Comprehensive Workshops:
Twelve comprehensive workshops were conducted in the Fall of 2013 across all eight regions of the state. These workshops provided training at the beginning of the school year for over 600 new and returning staff.

1-Day OrPATS Workshop: Implementing Evidence-Based Practices for Middle/High School Students
Participants will receive training on how to use the following instructional strategies: assessing and teaching functional routines, task analysis, discrete trial training, and the use of positive behavior intervention and supports as used in the Links Curriculum, FACTER and STAR Program. This workshop is appropriate for teachers, assistants, related service providers, specialists and administrators working with students with ASD and other related developmental disabilities.

1-Day OrPATS Workshop: Parent Training for Preschool
Participants will receive an overview of the evidence-based strategies taught within the parent training curriculum Teaching Social Communication to Children with Autism by Brooke Ingersoll and Anna Dvortcsak, focusing on direct and indirect strategies and techniques for coaching families with children with ASD and communication and social interaction delays. This workshop is appropriate for EI/ECSE staff planning to implement the parent training with families.

1/2-Day OrPATS Workshop: Serving Students with ASD in General Education Settings: A Training for Special Educators
Participants will learn how to use an online professional development tool to support general educators serving students with higher functioning autism. This workshop is appropriate for autism consultants, special education teachers and related service providers that support general educators working with students with ASD.
